CLASS OF 2020

Families and Children

Recently I came across a beautiful song titled. “Vivir” (“To Live”), sung by the late Spanish singer Nino Bravo. The track truly captures the complexity and beauty of life and I thought I would share this as a moment of reflection of the past two years, as well as a glimpse into the years to come. The chorus of the song is as follows:

[Original - Spanish]
Pensar, hablar, soñar,
Llorar, luchar, reír,
Sentir, amar, sufrir,
Eso es vivir, vivir.

[Translation - English]
To think, to talk, to dream,
To cry, to fight, to laugh,
To feel, to love, to suffer,
That is living, living.

These past two years have been filled with all of these moments and no moment was better than the other because they were all opportunities for growth. I am deeply grateful to my professors, field instructors, and peers for supporting me through this journey. I close this chapter of my life with a Master’s degree and carry with me, a community. Sending so much love to my UMB SSW family! Congratulations to the entire graduating class!
